A CO2 incubator is designed to create and maintain optimal conditions for cell and tissue culture. It plays a crucial role in maintaining a cell culture's sterility, temperature, humidity, and carbon dioxide levels, mimicking the physiological environment necessary for the growth and proliferation of cells.

The CO2 incubator is widely used in scientific research to grow and maintain cell cultures. Typical fields of application include tissue engineering, in vitro fertilization, neuroscience, cancer research, cell biology, microbiology and drug development.

Four E's CO2 incubator combine high capacity, PID temperature control and fast temperature and 

CO2 recovery (less than 5 min), providing optimal atmospheric conditions to maintain the culture's viability.

What does “Tri-gas” mean in the CO2 incubator? And what does it serve?

“Tris-gas” means CO2 , O2 and N2. The standard doesn’t include the O2 option.

Why is O2 needed for cell culture?

Oxygen control: Atmospheric air contains approximately21 % oxygen. Physiological oxygen concentrations of cells can typically range from 1 % to 13 %. It has been found that oxygen concentration is a critical environmental component that influences stem cell growth and development, for instance. That is why scientists in a variety of emerging fields, like stem cell research, are coming to understand the value of controlling oxygen in addition to CO2 and temperature.

How does the recovery time affect the cell culture?

Faster recovery time after door opening results in less disturbance to cell growth, yielding better outcomes. Conversely, slower recovery time leads to greater disruption of cell growth, extending the growth period and affecting cell consistency.
